Washing laundry in the sink!
So lets see....Just when things get comfortable, the Army shut off all of the personal laundry posts. Great. Here is their reasoning. Due to the surge of incoming people...we need to conserve water on base (since all the water is trucked in). Now what they want us to do is take our laundry to the on base laundry service which is a three day turnaround. Not to mention that the ha-gi counts out each sock and pair of boxers infront of God and everyone to make sure they return with the same amount that you gave them (which is ultimately a good thing). But after standing in line for thirty minutes, it just gets a bit retarded. Damit, my mom taught me how to do my own laundry for a reason....
What they failed to mention is that they got a new contractor that is only bringing in half of the amount of water per day that the old contractor was.....thanks for being honest.
anyway....I went to Kuwait City the other day to drop off one of our squadron mates at the airport. It was kind of good to realize that there is a world outside of a camp in the middle of the desert. I was amazed at the similarities to the States. Food court, parking tickets in the garages, police cars are even black and white and are Ford caprice classic for God's sake!
